COVID-19 UPDATES & REOPENING ANNOUNCEMENTS

PARKS & RECREATION & COVID-10:  RE-OPENING PLANS

Please see the updates below for details on the re-opening of Falling Springs Center.  We will be posting updates for additional facilities in the coming days.

IMPORTANT NOTE PER STATE GUIDELINES (Updates will be posted as they become available):

  • KidZone Childcare at Falling Springs will NOT open when the Center reopens on June 1.
  • The Locker Rooms will NOT be open when the Center reopens on June1
  • The Outdoor Pool will open Monday, June 29 (see info box below for details).
  • Recreational swimming and diving will not be permitted in the indoor pool.

PARKS & RECREATION OFFICES

The Parks & Recreation offices located at Falling Springs Center will re-open on Monday, June 1st. To maintain safety for patrons an staff, we have made the following changes:

  • ACCESSING THE OFFICE
    • NOTE:  WHENEVER POSSIBLE, PLEASE UTILIZE OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM, EMAIL OR CALL US FOR REGISTRATIONS, PASS PURCHASES, ETC. *
    • The lobby has been divided down the middle.  All visitors must use the doors on the left side of the main entrance.
    • After entering the second set of doors, there is an opening to access the office to the right
    • Please do not enter the office.  The door will be open with a red line on the floor.
    • Please let our staff know what you need & any questions you have.
    • Visitors should only enter the office to make a payment unless instructed otherwise.
    • Just outside the office doors there are side tables and chairs. These are to be used for completing any paperwork.  Clipboards & pens are provided along with disinfecting wipes.
    • Please maintain social distancing at all times.

GENERAL NOTES – FALLING SPRINGS CENTER

Falling Springs Center will re-open with modifications on Monday, June 1st. To maintain safety for patrons an staff, we have made the following changes when you enter the building:

  • The lobby has been divided down the middle.  All visitors must use the doors on the left side of the main entrance.
  • Move forward to the Main Lobby check in desk. Please maintain social distancing at all times (the floor has been marked with red tape every 6 feet for your convenience).
  • At the main desk, members should swipe their membership cards or visit cards to enter the building.
  • Non-members must pay the daily fee.
  • All seating & common areas are closed.  Please do not gather in groups.
  • Practice social distancing at all times.
  • Be a good neighbor! stay home if you are sick or are not feeling well.
  • Employees will be temperature checked upon arrival & will be wearing masks around the building.
  • Patrons are encouraged to bring their own mask and wear it while in common areas.
  • Water fountains have been disabled. Water bottle fillers are available. Please bring your own water bottle.

OUTDOOR POOL

WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!!  The Outdoor Pool at Falling Springs Center will open on June 29!

 

 

IT’LL BE DIFFERENT, BUT IT’LL STILL BE FUN!

OUTDOOR POOL OPERATIONS PLAN:

  • Entry is by ticket only and is to the outdoor pool only (no access to the indoor pool, locker rooms, etc).
  • 100 tickets are available per swim block
  • EVERYONE must have a ticket to enter, regardless of age – tickets can be reserved online at webtrac.vwcparksrec.com beginning THURSDAY, JUNE 25 at 1 PM
  • Maximum of 5 tickets may be purchased per household.
  • ENTRY FEES
    • Falling Springs members – FREE
    • All others – $3 per ticket (regardless of age)
  • There are ABSOLUTELY NO CHANGES, REFUNDS OR RAIN-CHECKS
  • Swim blocks are 2 hours as follows:

Monday-Saturday:               Sundays:

9:30-11:30 AM                     12:00-2:00 PM
12:00-2:00 PM                     2:30-4:30 PM
2:30-4:30 PM                       5:00-7:00 PM
5:00-7:00 PM

Additional Information:

    1. Youth ages 12 & under MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian or a responsible party age 16 or older.
    2. Entry is through the outdoor pool gate – a ticket is required for entry (printed or on smartphone).
    3. Exit is via the side gate next to the circle in front of the main entrance to Falling Springs Center
    4. There is absolutely no re-entry or refunds.
    5. There is NO ACCESS to the indoor pool, locker rooms or other indoor amenities.
    6. Please wear a mask until you have checked in through pool entrance.
    7. Chairs will be available & will be sanitized between blocks, however guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
    8. The concessions stand will NOT be open. Guests may bring small coolers (absolutely no glass or alcohol is permitted).

FITNESS

Fitness facilities will re-open on June 1 with modifications.  Please see details below:

  • Cardio equipment not requiring power has been moved to court 3 in the gymnasium and spread out to maintain safe social distancing.
  • Treadmills and other equipment requiring power has been spread out across the fitness room.
  • Machine weights remain in their existing locations. Please follow the instructions of all signage to maintain safe social distancing.
  • Free weights remain in the free weight room. Please do not move benches or other equipment.
  • Please wash your hands before and after exercise.
  • Please spray & wipe down any equipment that you touch after each use. This includes barbells, plates, dumbbells, cardio equipment, medicine balls, etc.
  • Water fountains have been disabled. Water bottle fillers are operational, so be sure to bring your own water bottle.
  • Maintain social distancing at all times and do not congregate in groups.
  • The locker rooms are closed. This includes the showers & lockers. If you need to change clothes, please use the stalls in the lobby bathroom.

INDOOR POOL & THERAPY POOL

  • The indoor pools are available for fitness use only – per state guidelines, there is no free or recreation swim allowed.
  • The diving boards will remain closed.
  • The locker rooms are closed. This includes the showers & lockers. If you need to change clothes, please use the stalls in the lobby bathroom.

 

LAP SWIMMING & THERAPY POOL ARE ONLY AVAILABLE BY PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY!

  • REGISTRATION FOR LAP SWIMMING & THERAPY SLOTS GO LIVE WEEKLY FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK ON THURSDAYS AT 12:30 PM
  • Lap Pool – only 1 swimmer is permitted per lane (a max of 8 total swimmers). *Beginning June 15 up to 4 family members may swim in a lane, only one family member needs to register.
  • Therapy Pool – only 2 people may use the Therapy pool at a time, one at each end of the pool.
  • Pool Reservation Details:
    • Each family member may book up to 5 slots per calendar week.
    • Swim times are offered in 1 hour slots
    • There will be 15 minutes between slots
    • Upon arrival, a guard will assign you a lane
    • When your time is up, the guard will blow the whistle to clear the pool for the next group.

 

HOW TO BOOK A SWIM TIME:

 

ONLINE REGISTRATION TIPS:

  • Anyone who has registered for a pass, program, activity, league or made a facility reservation in the past (or has a household member who has done so) already has an account.
  • If you have never registered for a program, pass or reservation and have not already set up an account, you will need to do so following the instructions at the link above.
  • If you try to set up an account and you get an error message indicating a duplicate name, address, email address, etc, please do NOT continue – most likely you have already have an account and just didn’t realize it. Instead, please contact the office to get your log-in credentials or so we can troubleshoot why it’s not letting you set up an account.
  • Once you are logged in, please check your household information and make sure it us up to date for you and any family members on the account, including your email address, phone number, mailing address and all birth dates.
  • If you have never had a transaction with us in the past, make sure you set up your account with an adult as the Primary Guardian and then add any additional guardians or children.  Do NOT list a child as the Primary Guardian.
  • Lap Lane & Therapy Pool booking is available under the Aquatics option or by clicking “SEARCH” on the navigation bar clicking “ACTIVITY SELECTION” and entering “LAP” or “THERAPY” in the search bar.

 

I HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OTHER PROGRAMS, HAVE OR HAVE HAD A PASS OR HAVE MADE A RESERVATION BEFORE. HOW DO GET MY LOG-IN INFORMATION?

  • If you have an account, your log-in information is your household ID number.
  • This number is your Username AND Password for your initial log-in.
  • This number is printed all Parks & Recreation receipts
  • If you do not have a receipt from a previous transaction, please contact the office by email or at 859.873.5948 and we can look it up for you.

 

I AM GETTING AN ERROR TRYING TO SET UP A NEW ACCOUNT.  IT SAYS THE NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL, ETC ALREADY EXISTS.

  • This means that you already have an account.  Please contact the office by email or at 859.873.5948 to get your log-in credentials.

 

CAN I CHANGE MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD AFTER I’VE LOGGED IN WITH MY HOUSEHOLD ID NUMBER?

  • Yes, after you log in, we encourage you to go to “MY ACCOUNT” and then “ACCOUNT SETTINGS” and change your username and password to something that is easier for you to remember.
 

BASKETBALL COURTS

  • Court 2 in the gymnasium will be available for INDIVIDUAL PLAY ONLY. 
  • 3 goals will be lowered for shooting only
  • Only 1 person permitted per goal unless they are family members living in the same household.
  • Users must bring their own basketball

INDOOR TRACK

  • The elevated indoor track will be available for waking or jogging. 
  • Walk or run with family members only
  • Please practice social distancing with anyone not in your family

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

  • Some group fitness classes resumed on June 8.  Additional classes will be added over the next month.  Click HERE for a schedule.
  • Due to space and instructor availability, the full schedule will NOT be offered
  • Note that class sizes may be limited.
  • Classes will be spread out and spots marked at every 10 feet
  • Do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your class’s start time.
  • Equipment will be available and sanitized after every class, however guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment (mats, towels, etc.)
  • The locker rooms are closed. This includes the showers & lockers. If you need to change clothes, please use the stalls in the lobby bathroom.

PLAYGROUNDS & PAVILIONS

  • All park playgrounds remain closed
  • All park pavilions remain closed

DOG PARK, DISC GOLF, TENNIS COURTS & CROSS COUNTRY TRAIL

  • All are Open!
  • Please practice social distancing at all times.

SPORTS FIELDS

  • All fields are currently closed to group and team play
  • June 15 – Baseball & Softball Fields will reopen for practices. Coaches will be contacted by June 5 with details.
  • June 29 – Baseball & Softball Fields will reopen for competitions.
  • Fields are open for individual or family play (playing catch, working on grounders, kicking a soccer ball, etc.)
