Parks & Recreation partners with Community Tennis Associations (CTA’s) in Central Kentucky offer Middle School & High School kids an opportunity to play tennis in the fall!
Middle School players participate in the Bluegrass Middle School Tennis League and includes weekly practices and matches. Areas participating are Frankfort, Georgetown, Lexington and possibly Richmond. Matches are on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons and the season runs through mid to late October.
High School players participate in the Bluegrass Tennis Association High School Interscholastic Tennis League and includes weekly practices and matches. League participants include teams from Lexington, Frankfort, Georgetown, Richmond, Nicholasville, etc. Due to the distance of some teams, scheduling may include multiple teams playing dual or tri matches, typically on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons. The season runs from early September to mid-October.
All playing levels are welcome, even those brand new to tennis, and we’ll form multiple teams based on interest. Woodford County Middle School, High School, St. Leo, Versailles Montessori & home school students are welcome as are other 6th-12th graders who would like to participate. There are no cuts & everybody plays!
These leagues are administered by the CTA’s and are considered a Jr. Team Tennis program affiliated with the USTA (it’s not affiliated with the KHSAA or school administration). Format includes practices as well as home and away matches. Contact Aaron with questions.
